So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
31 Commodity Plastics
Commodity plastics, or commodity polymers, are plastics produced in high volume for applications where exceptional material properties are not needed (such as packaging, food containers, and household products).
The majority of the plastic products produced worldwide are made from just six commodity thermoplastics, namely polyethylene including low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density PE (HDPE), polypropylene (PP), PVC, PS, and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). All six are unbelievably useful and versatile. They account for more than 90% of global plastics material consumption.
