Inorganic polymers generally refer to linearly chained large molecules composed of inorganic main chain with inorganic or organic side groups, rather than to heavily crosslinked materials such as silicate minerals.
There are several types of inorganic polymers; they are normally Si-based such as polysilane and polysiloxane; P-based such as polyphosphazene; B-based such as polyborazylenes and polyaminoboranes; and S-based such as polythiazyls.
