Crosslink, or crosslinking, means to link one polymer chain to another by forming covalent bonds (chemical crosslinking) or other interactions such as hydrogen bonds or ionic bonds (physical crosslinking). When polymer chains are crosslinked, the material becomes more rigid.
The term curing refers to the crosslinking of thermosetting resins, such as unsaturated polyester and epoxy resin, and the term vulcanization is characteristically used for rubbers.
