I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
171 Polymerization
Polymerization is the process of reacting monomer molecules together in a chemical reaction to form polymer chains or three-dimensional networks.
There are two basic types of polymerization: chain-reaction (or addition) and step-growth (or condensation) polymerization. Chain-reaction polymerization is a technique where unsaturated monomer molecules add onto the active site on a growing polymer chain one at a time. On the other hand, step-growth polymerization proceeds in which bifunctional or multifunctional monomers react to form first dimers, then trimers, then oligomers followed by long-chain polymers.
