Engineering polymers/engineering plastics are a group of polymer materials with exceptional thermal stability and mechanical properties such as stiffness, toughness, and low creep that make them valuable in the manufacture of structural products like gears, bearings, electronic devices, and auto parts.
Some common engineering polymers are polyacrylates, polyamide (PA), polycarbonates (PCs), polyetherimides (PEIs), nylon, polysulfone (PSU), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), polyetheretherketone (PEEK), polyimide (PI), and polybenzimidazole (PBI).
