Flashes use a slightly weird term for adjusting how bright (or dark) their light is. They don’t call it “brightness” (that would make too much sense), but instead, refer to the brightness amount as “power.” As in, “Want your flash to be brighter? Turn up the power setting.” So, it’s helpful to know that up front. The higher you set the power, the brighter the flash.
Full power (maximum brightness for your flash) is called “1/1” (one to one). This is pretty darn bright, and you probably won’t use that full-power setting very often (if at all). More on why later, but just know that using your flash indoors ...
