Set your flash to shoot in Manual mode (M), so you can control the power of the flash manually by simply turning the power up or down, and set the power of your flash to 1/4 power. Note: If you have a Phottix flash, you set the flash to ETTL mode, but then you set the mode on the Phottix transmitter on top of your camera to Manual (M), and now you can control it manually (this one stumped me, too, at first). I know this probably goes without saying (well, at this point, at least I hope it does), but make sure you have a wireless transmitter to fire your flash (see page 13 for more on transmitters).
