So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Using Your Flash’s White Bounce Card
If you’re going to be putting your flash directly on top of your camera (and there are some instances where this is, well, kind of acceptable, like while shooting the bride-to-be in her suite, while the bridesmaids are hanging out, getting the bride ready, etc.), I’m hoping that you are aiming your flash straight upward (like you see above), rather than directly at your subject (which is a recipe for awful flash). If that’s the case, you can take some of the light from your flash that is aiming upward and redirect a tiny bit of it back to your subject in front of you, using your flash’s built-in bounce card. ...
