I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Big, Beautiful Light Comes from Big Softboxes
If you need really big, beautiful light, either for super-soft, gorgeous portraits, or lighting full-length fashion, or for lighting groups, you need a really big ol’ softbox. The bigger the softbox, the softer, more wrapping, and more beautiful the light. When I’m in any of those situations, I go with Westcott’s Recessed Mega JS Apollo 50x50" softbox. Well, it looks like a softbox and acts like a softbox, but in reality, it’s a very cleverly designed umbrella that when you open it, instead of expanding into an umbrella shape, it goes into a huge softbox shape.
