So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Wedding Workflow
STEP ONE: Make Ready Flash
I cover a wedding using five different setups because I’m shooting in four different places: (1) in the room where the bride is getting ready (often a hotel room); (2) on location, shooting the bridal portraits; (3) in the church, shooting the ceremony itself, and (4) the formals right after the wedding; and (5) the reception. These are easy setups, and I use just one flash for most of it, so don’t let it throw you. What I’m changing are the flash modifiers for the most part, so we’ll start with the “make ready” flash (for the bride and bridesmaids hanging out). I usually shoot these with the flash on ...
