Remember back in Chapter 4, when we talked about using grids to corral our light into a very tight beam that doesn’t spill all over the place? Well, if you want a really tight spotlight effect behind your subject, you can put a grid on the flash you have on the background, and you’ll have a small, well-defined spotlight. Both Rogue and MagMod make grids that create a tight spotlight, but not too tight (the MagMod grid is a 40° grid, which is nice and tight, and the Rogue is just a bit wider at 45°.
