Every flash does it a little differently, but for the most part, flashes either use a dial to crank up/down the power or an up/down button, and you’ll see a readout of the current power setting in the LCD window on the back of your flash. Here are some examples for how you turn the power up/down on your flash:
Canon: Press the Select/Set button on the back of the flash, then turn the dial to the right to increase power or to the left to lower it.
