So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Reception Option #1:On-Camera
There are a bunch of different ways to use flash at a reception, and I’ll start with the simplest and cheapest option, which is to put your flash on top of your camera in the hot shoe, snap on your diffusion dome, angle your flash at a steep angle toward the ceiling, and use bounce flash. Give that a try first and see how the results look (a lot will depend on the height and color of the ceiling in the reception venue, provided there is a ceiling at all).
