When shooting with bounce flash, we tend to aim the flash straight forward toward our subject, and then tilt it up so it bounces off the ceiling, right? That helps spread, diffuse, and soften the light, but the light is still coming straight at our subject from overhead, which isn’t necessarily the most flattering or interesting angle.
