If you don’t have a friend to help you hold the flash and that 1-stop diffuser on a shoot, things get a bit stickier, so get your debit card handy. Without a friend to help, you’ll need to mount your flash on top of a light stand (you can get a lightweight 6' Impact Light Stand for around $20). You’ll also need a tilt bracket of some sort, with a flash mount on top (which are oddly expensive), but you can get the highly rated Phottix US-A3 Umbrella Swivel for Off-Camera Flash, with its own mini–ball head (which is pretty cool, I might add) for just $22.
