Most reception hall lighting is going to give you a pretty warm, yellowish tone, and if you start firing a white flash, it’s really going to stick out like a sore thumb. So, you might want to consider adding a little orange gel over the front of your flash (see page 85) to help you blend the light from your flash with the room light. This also helps if you wind up switching (as I often do) between shooting available light in the room (sometimes I turn the flash off completely to just capture the DJ lighting—and yes I have to shoot at a crazy high ISO for those).
