Definition of a Cluster
Figure 34-1 on page 825 illustrates a PC server or workstation based on an array of two Pentium® 4 Xeon DP processors and a typical chipset.
The term cluster refers to the processors that reside on a FSB. Currently, it can consists of anywhere from one to four processors. A system with two processors on the FSB is commonly referred to as a 2-way system, while one with four processors on the FSB is commonly referred to as a 4-way (or quad) system.
