Building Custom Reports with ASP.NET

Another way to create a custom report is to create an ASP.NET web application and then use the Link to Web Page option to deploy it, as explained earlier. Using this method doesn’t allow you to use all the benefits inherent to SSRS (including the capability to pass parameters to the reports and also use prefiltering), but enables you to extend a report with other features not possible with SSRS but easy to do with a custom ASP.NET application. If you need to create a report using this method, you must handle the filtering options in your application manually.
