So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Solutions represent the packages by which customizations are deployed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013. The important takeaway from that statement is that they are packages. They can hold a number of customizations that modify, customize, or extend Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013.
Prior to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, there was no provision for the logical grouping of customizations, and one customization was made on top of another with only the development prefix available to reconcile the modifications.
