SUMMARY
This chapter provides the materials to support an OD practitioner’s self-development journey. Effective transformational leadership development requires an assessment. Because the field of OD and change is far from exact and far from mature—and the role of OD practitioner and leader of change is also less than exact—assessment for personal change is ever evolving. As noted by Pettigrew (2001, p. 697), the ability to understand “the dynamics and effects of time, process, discontinuity, and context” in the field of organization change is itself a complex process. The international nature of many organizations adds to the complexity of the field as well.
