So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
05野中郁次郎のスクラム

スクラムに日本から与えた影響として、野中郁次郎と竹内弘高による論文『The New New Product Development Game』（Harvard Business Review、1986、https://oreil.ly/kBq_y）がある（以下、NewNew）。この論文自体は、日本の80年代製造業のイノベーション（新製品開発）のためのチーム作りやプロセスを組織研究したものだ。スクラムという名前がこの論文から取られたこともあり、野中郁次郎は「スクラムの祖父」（Grandfather of Scrum）と呼ばれる。
NewNew には、以下のような図が出てくる。この図の持つ意味を3つ考えてみよう。
1. バトンリレーではなくスクラムで
この論文の副題は、「Stop running the relay race, and take up rugby（リレーをやめてラグビーを始めよう）」であり、役割やフェーズを分割して成果物リレーでゴールに向かうのではなく、さまざまな職種の人が一丸となってラグビーのようにゴールに向かうことを述べている。上図のType Aは、開発をフェーズに分け、各フェーズの出口で得られた成果物を次の担当組織へと渡している。これがリレー型だ。対して ...
