The three core skills of emotional self-awareness are built upon each other pyramid-like:
- Accurate self-awareness: This is the base of the pyramid because, first off, you need to be aware of your emotional triggers, patterns of thoughts, behaviors, inner strengths, and weaknesses.
- Accurate self-assessment: Secondly, you need to be able to accurately assess how your emotions are affecting your performance, your behaviors, and relationships.
- Self-confidence: This is the top of the pyramid because only when you are consciously aware of your emotional triggers and understand how they manifest, are you in control. And being in control of your emotional triggers boosts your self-confidence.
