I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Desktop and Finder Features
The Desktop and the Finder in Mac OS 9 look like the same thing. Actually, the Finder is the software that runs the Desktop, but when we would say, “Go to the Finder” or “Go to the Desktop,” we meant the same place.
In Mac OS X, the Desktop and the Finder are more clearly separated. The Desktop is the background, and you can still place things on it and save to it. The Finder is a defined application with its own special windows. The menu across the top of the Desktop is the Finder menu, and all windows that display documents and application files are “Finder windows.” Apple calls the Finder “the gateway to your computer and network.”
