There are a number of ways to close or minimize all windows at once.
To simultaneously close every window that is open on your Desktop, hold down the Option key while you click in any window’s Close button (the red one); all the windows will go away one after another!
In the File menu there is a command to “Close Window.” If you hold down the Option key, that command changes to “Close All.”
The keyboard shortcut to close a window is Command W. To close all the windows at once, press Command Option W.
