There are three ways to send an Instant Message to someone else. If someone is in your Buddy List and you notice they’re online, the third method is the quickest and easiest.
You need to know a person’s AIM name. It might be someone’s Mac.com email address (including the part “@mac.com”), an AOL screen name (without the “@aol.com” part), or an AIM name that a person signed up for at www.aim.com.
To end an Instant Messaging session, just close the window. When either participant closes his or her window, the session ends.
