So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
What is a Connector?
Connectors are the parts on the ends of the cables that actually make the connection to the other device. The connector is the part that tells you what kind of cable it is—an Ethernet cable has a very different connector from a serial cable, which is very different from a USB cable (as illustrated on the following pages).
Every connector is either male or female; take one look and you can guess why. The male or female shape is a very important identifying feature. When you start connecting lots of things together (like to project a presentation from the computer to a large wall screen), you will find yourself looking for either a male or female connector.
