Undoing a Name Change

If you do accidentally change the name of an icon (which is very easy to do—files have been known to mysteriously change their names to \\\\\\ \\\\\\ or `````` while you weren’t doing anything but leaning on the keyboard), you do have one chance to restore the name to its original form: Undo. As soon as you see the mistake has been made, from the Edit menu choose “Undo.” If you haven’t done anything since this minor catastrophe (and things could be worse), Undo will restore the original name, even if you forgot it. In fact, you can undo the name on one file until you change another name—check the Edit menu; if you can still Undo the change, the first thing in the Edit menu will be “Undo Rename”; choose it.
