Install by Dragging

If you have software already installed on a Mac running OS X, it is sometimes possible to drag that software folder to another Mac through your file sharing connection, or drag it from a Zip disk or a CD onto another Mac. This isn’t the best way to install most software because some applications put files in various Library folders as they go through the installation process, but it will usually work. Remember, though, that when you buy software, you don’t really buy the software—you buy the right to use that software on one computer, so you can’t be dragging your $600 version of Photoshop onto all your friends’ computers.
