I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Install from a CD
One of the most common ways you’ll get new software is on a CD. This kind of CD almost always has an “installer” file that will do the installation with very little help from you. It’s great. Generally you should quit all other applications while you install new software.
To install an application from a CD:
1. | Insert the CD into the drive, label-side upwards. It takes a few seconds for the CD icon to appear on your Desktop. (If you changed the Finder preferences so “removable media” does not show up on your Desktop, click the Computer icon in a Finder window to see the CD icon.)
The install window often pops open automatically, as shown below. If it doesn’t, double-click the CD icon.
