Emptying the Trash

Anything you put in the Trash basket will stay there, even if you turn off the computer, until you consciously empty the Trash. Once you do that, everything in the basket is gone forever. No amount of crying or pleading will bring it back. Believe me.

Sometimes you throw away files because you want to make space on a disk. Keep in mind that the Trash must be emptied before the space will open up; that is, until you actually empty the Trash, the files continue to take up space on your hard disk or any other disk.
