So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 21. Downloading & Installing
Downloading and installing files can be rather confusing because a variety of files appear on your Desktop (or disappear and you can’t find them) and then you’re not sure what to do with which one and you’re not sure if you can throw any of them away because they might be important. So I hope this chapter will sort most of this out for you.
Note:
You will always be asked for an administrator’s name and password before any new applications or utilities can be installed, so make sure you have those handy. If you’ve forgotten them completely, see pages 322 and 323.
