Creating a New Folder

It’s easy to create your own new, empty folder.

1.	If you want the new folder to sit directly on the Desktop (not in another window), first click on the Desktop. In Icon View or List View, make sure the window in which you want a new folder is active (click on it). In Column View, it’s a little tricky to select the proper column; see the illustrations and captions below.
2.	Once the proper location is selected, from the File menu, choose “New Folder,” or use the keyboard shortcut, Command Shift N. A new, “untitled ...
