When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Finder Preferences
In the Finder Preferences, you have control over several Desktop features.
To open the Finder Preferences:
At the Desktop, go to the Finder menu and choose “Preferences....”
“Show these items on the Desktop”
You can decide which icons automatically appear on the Desktop. As shown below, you can uncheck the “Hard disks” box so hard disk icons do not appear on the Desktop. You can also uncheck “Removable media,” which means you won’t see any CD, DVD, Jaz, Zip, floppy, or any other kind of icons that represent disks you have inserted into drives. If you are on a network and can connect to other computers, an icon appears on your Desktop that represents the other computer, or server; you can turn off that icon as well. The reason ...
