What You Need Before You Start

Whether you walk through the Setup Assistant the first time you turn on your Mac, or you decide to do it later, there is information you need to have from your service provider or network administrator (unless you plan to use EarthLink at home or in your small office; see page 500). And remember, if you have or plan to have an America Online account as your only connection, you don’t need to go through the Internet setup process at all.

If you have a provider other than EarthLink, before you begin make sure you have the information your provider gave you:
