So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Step by Step: What To Do
Below are the steps you’ll follow to get yourself connected to the Internet so you can browse the World Wide Web and do email.
If you just turned on your Mac for the first time and it’s asking you what to do and you don’t know, the easiest option is to plug the phone line into your Mac and into a phone jack, and choose EarthLink. When the screen asks if you want to get set up with a new connection, choose that option and it will walk you through getting connected to EarthLink. You can skip the rest of this chapter and be on the Internet in five minutes. You can always change your mind later when you have a better idea of what you want to do.
