AppleScript

An AppleScript is a series of commands written in the AppleScript language that tells your Mac to do something for you. AppleScripts can perform repetitive tasks for you, such as change all of your .tiff file names to .tif, or number all of the items in a folder. Or let’s say you get lots of files from PC users who name files with all caps and it makes you crazy—you can write a script that will change all of the file names to lowercase; once you write the script, you can run it anytime.
