So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Ethernet Ports
Ethernet (pronounced eether-net) is the most common networking system for local area networks (LANs), which means the computers that are connected together are close enough to be connected with cables (as opposed to a wide area network, a WAN). All newer Macs, including all iMacs, have Ethernet ports, which look like large phone jacks. You can use Ethernet even in your home or small office to connect several computers so you can send files back and forth (see Chapter 35).
