It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

I’m assuming that if you bought a printer, you made sure it was compatible with your Macintosh; for instance, if your computer uses USB ports (which it does if it was built since late 1998), you must get a USB-compatible printer and a USB cable.
Even though there is a USB port in your keyboard, don’t plug your printer into that port—your printer will usually work more reliably if you plug it directly into your computer, or at least into a “hub” with a power source. (See Chapter 37 for ...
