Meet face-to-face regularly, at least twice a year even for global teams. Renew and reinforce interpersonal relationships. Establish a team identity or name that brings the team together.
Be disciplined in your project communications. Monitor project progress through frequent status collection, plan variance analysis, and performance reporting. In addition to formal communication, communicate informally with the team regularly, and encourage informal interaction among the team members.
