With the introduction of components including the ribbon and dialog framework, page editing in SharePoint 2010 is easy! Functions, including options to update page content and change the home page of your site, are all directly available from within the ribbon. Users no longer need to navigate to a separate page to complete forms—the dialog framework means that users can complete forms within the context of the current page. User notifications and statuses are conveniently displayed below the ribbon throughout editing to keep users informed of the latest changes, including page versioning and page status.
