So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Appending Changes on Multiple Lines of Text Fields
One of the limitations cited in Chapter 25 was the fact that when customizing list forms, those forms did not honor the append changes to existing text option when creating columns of type multiple lines of text (see the “Concatenating Comments in a Custom Display Form” section in Chapter 25). The good news is that InfoPath 2010 includes the Append Only control for SharePoint list forms. To see the Append Only control in action, perform the following steps.
1. In SharePoint Designer, create a new custom list with versioning enabled (versioning must be enabled before you can set append changes).
2. Create a new column of type multiple lines of text with the append changes option checked.
