One area often overlooked when working with SharePoint master pages is in how they work with existing and new content pages throughout sites and site collections. Master pages combine with content pages to produce the final rendered page in the browser, as demonstrated in Figure 6.66. The master page contains all of the consistent objects, such as search and navigation, and is centrally managed from a single file. The content page comprises a Web part, publishing, Wiki, or ASPX page and is the entry point for authoring, adding, and modifying content via the Web interface.
