When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Why Use Themes?
One of the questions I typically receive when delivering SharePoint design classes is about whether to use themes or custom master pages to change the look and feel of SharePoint sites. My answer to this is usually in two parts. One, it depends on the level of branding you want to achieve. For instance, if you just want to change colors (of images and fonts) and font type, within an existing site or site collection then that is something that you can achieve by using a theme. If, on the other hand, you want to change the entire layout of pages, such as repositioning site navigation, then you need to consider using a custom master page combined with custom CSS.
