I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Setting Data View Preview Templates
Using the Data View Preview options in SharePoint Designer, you can determine how each preview will appear in the XLV in the Web interface.
Note
The Edit Template and Insert Template options only appear if the Inline Editing option has been applied to the view. The Data View Preview command is available (when editing XLVs) in the ribbon’s Design tab of the List View Tools contextual tab.
For instance, in Figure 23.65, the No Matching Items template is currently selected; this template is used when a user filters on list items and no matching items are returned based on the filter value.
