Cascading Drop-down Fields with jQuery

A frequent request when working with SharePoint list forms involves including cascading drop-down fields, or the ability to select from one drop-down and then have the second drop-down trigger selections based on the first selection. For example, if you choose USA from an initial Country selection field then that selection filters out the second field selection so it only shows USA states. By default, this behavior is not possible and, as shown in Figure 25.80, the State field hasn’t filtered out states specific to the initial selection, Australia.
