SharePoint 2010 Ribbon
The ribbon, aptly introduced as part of the new SharePoint 2010 fluid interface, adds readily accessible editing and page commands throughout SharePoint 2010 pages.
Ribbon highlights include
• Fixed position at top of page; it does not scroll out of view.
• Ribbon is based on asynchronous JavaScript and XML; ribbon XML defines the user interface, and behavior is controlled by JavaScript.
• On-demand JavaScript (optimized for page performance). Not all ribbon-related JavaScript is downloaded on page load; it’s downloaded based on subsequent user interaction; more JavaScript can be downloaded as it is required.
• CSS layout, styling, and hover effects (no tables) are CSS controlled.
