It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Working with Form Fields and Custom Forms
As you create custom list forms, fields (columns) you’ve already defined within your list, or content type, by default display on the form. Another advantage of creating custom list forms is that you are then able to access and configure list form fields as shown in Figure 25.43.
