If a site has been explicitly locked down to SharePoint Designer access, either via the Web application or site collection level SharePoint Designer Settings, or use of the DisableWebDesignFeatures="wdfopensite" parameter in a related site definition’s onet.xml file then attempting to open the site in SharePoint Designer fails, as shown in Figure 8.17.
