these substances involve hazardous and toxic materials. The substances present a
particularly difficult disposal problem.
Hawthorne formed a team of their best chemists and engineers to develop paint,
varnish, lacquer, and glue that meet the latest standards of the Environmental
Protection Agency and provide the luster, color, and durability of Hawthorne's
traditional materials.
The team was given a budget of $750,000.
