日常生活の中で使われる丸い電池
化学電池は種類が同じ電池でも、用途に合わせてさまざまな形状の電池
が作られています。
日常生活の中で1 番使われている乾電池は円筒形で、単 1形から単5 形
まで5種類の大きさがあります（図 1-6）。単6 形も販売されていますが、
国内生産されておらず、すべて輸入品です。また電池の「単」は「1.5V
の電池（セル）1 個だけ」という意味です。
腕時計や補聴器、電子ゲームなどの小型機器でよく使われているのはボ
タン形です。直径より高さの方が短い円形の電池です。ボタン形の中でも
硬貨のように薄い形状の電池を、特にコイン形と区別することがありま
す。
補聴器やワイヤレスイヤホンなどでは、より小さいピン形電池が使われ
ています。直径わずか3 から5mm、高さ 2〜 4mm程度とかなり小型化さ
れています。
円筒形、ボタン形、コイン形、ピン形はすべて丸い形状をしているた
め、円形として形状記号R で示されます。
少しニッチな平たい電池
乾電池には、円筒形よりサイズの大きな長方体形の角形電池、平形電池
があります（図1-7）。
角形電池の中には、006P形という積層電池があります。これは1.5Vの
乾電池を6個直列に接続された構造になっており、電圧が9V です。006P
形は電気工具やラジコンカーなど高い電圧が必要な機器に使われます。
角形、平形、006P形はすべて四角い形状をしており、形状記号Fで示
